Overview
Kurt leads the Business Owner Services practice for SFG which partners with business owner clients providing a blend of assessment, planning and growth services. Kurt uses real world business ownership experience to understand the needs of business owners and leaders.
The Business Owner practice focus at SFG for decades has been to help owners grow their business, manage through growth pains, bring high level resources to solve critical company issues, assess exit or transition options and then helping the owner prepare and succeed in the next chapter of their life.
While Kurt brings a solid balance of entrepreneurialism and corporate focus, he is an entrepreneur at heart. Before coming to SFG, Kurt founded or participated in the startup and exit of multiple companies. Business areas included technology, services, and real estate development. He was also an “intrapreneur” in a Fortune 50 company for over a decade. Most recently, he founded a company that provided private business consulting and coaching services, helping small and medium businesses develop and attain their strategic objectives.

About Me
When not engaged in the business community, Cathy and I spend time with our five adult children and eight grandchildren. We enjoy new adventures together. Exercise is important to me. Whether going for a run or training at the gym, keeping my body healthy is a focus. Serving at my church plays a significant role in my life. I can regularly be seen playing the drums for worship and other services. I have traveled extensively around the world and enjoy seeing new places. I enjoy fishing and hunting as well as other outdoor activities. Working in the yard and gardening are definite pastimes. I feel a connection to the desert and the ocean and look for opportunities to rest there whenever possible. I have a passion for helping people and participate in several community programs. As well, I recently launched a small men’s group that gives men a voice and place to share, heal, and thrive. I believe that good life balance is important!
