Globalization Super Trend Update and Micro Trends Affecting the Economy and Our Lives 7-16-21

The next Zoom Live Chat in our popular Future Trends series will discuss critical globalization trends. As we’ve discussed in previous future trend reports and Live Chats, globalization as a Super Trend is a double edged sword. It has been responsible for lower inflation in the last couple of decades and many products being more affordable for Americans, but it has also cost many jobs that moved overseas. Worldwide supply chains were rocked by the pandemic and now many bottlenecks in those supply chains are causing product and part shortages and increased inflation. Many health care systems have determined they want to source more of their products from U.S. suppliers in the post-pandemic world, but due to cost constraints, are still heavily dependent on overseas supply chains. Hightower’s Chief Investment Officer Stephanie Link will join Glenn Joyce, CFA, CFP® and Dax Dixson, CFA to discuss these trends, moderated by Dennis Stearns, CFP®.

Prior to joining Hightower, Stephanie was the Senior Managing Director and Head of Global Equities Research at Nuveen. She also served as Chief Investment Officer at TheStreet, Co-Portfolio Manager of Jim Cramer’s Charitable Trust, and Director of Research at Prudential Equity Group. With over 27 years of experience managing money, Stephanie’s insights are frequently sought after for industry events and by the media and she is currently a CNBC contributor for several shows, including The Halftime Report, Closing Bell and Squawk Box.
