For the third consecutive year, SFG participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, and this year we’ve raised nearly $2,000 to support the Alzheimer’s Association. Please visit our Team Page (see the link below) if you’d like to contribute towards our fundraising efforts. Funds for 2017 will be collected through the end of the calendar year.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer’s and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.
Our Director of First Impressions, Michele Carrera Anderson, will be volunteering during The National Folk Festival. A large-scale, three-day outdoor event presented FREE to the public, the National Folk Festival celebrates the roots, richness, and variety of American culture. It features over 300 of the nation’s finest traditional musicians, dancers, and craftspeople in performances, workshops, and demonstrations, plus children’s activities, savory Southern and ethnic cuisines and craft brews, non-stop participatory dancing, storytelling, parades, and more.
